We are engaged and need to select a wedding officiant, how do we contact you?
You can contact Hudson Valley Heartfelt Ceremonies here.
Once you contact us, we set up a mutually convenient date and time to either talk on the phone, Skype, or meet in person.
During that time, we try to get to know each other a little bit. We discuss your ceremony and give you an opportunity to ask whatever questions you may have.
We are interested in having you officiate at our wedding, what is the next step?
We briefly review all the information from our previous discussion over the phone.
We gather any information that was not previously discussed.
We agree on your rate and discuss your contract.
We e-mail you a copy of the contract.
If you detect no errors or omissions, you both sign the contract and follow the instructions for returning it as well as paying the retainer.
Do you require any type of premarital counseling?
We do not require premarital counseling, but if you feel that you need it, let us know.
Do we really need a rehearsal?
We get this question quite a bit, and it really depends on a number factors:
What size is your wedding?
What size is your wedding party?
How complex is your ceremony?
Will the entire wedding party know what is expected of them?
Do you feel comfortable without a rehearsal?
Is your wedding venue providing somebody to review your processional, placement and recessional?
How do you dress for wedding ceremonies?
Rev. Jenn usually wears a dark blouse, slacks and sometimes a stole. Rev. John usually wears either a sport coat and clergy shirt with slacks or a suit. For indoor ceremonies he sometimes wears a robe and stole.
Is there an additional fee for travel?
The first 20 miles are included in your package price, after that we only charge $1.00 per mile. We only charge for mileage in one direction.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept checks, credit cards and if you are paying in person, we will also accept cash.
How do I obtain my wedding license?
